Jennifer Montgomery

Meet Jennifer Montgomery (Sam)

Jennifer graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor’s degree in English. While she is currently a stay-at-home mom to Kira (age 6) and Alison (age 3), Jennifer likes to relax by reading and singing.

Her most recent role was that of Julia in “The Wedding Singer.” Jennifer has also played Hodel in “Fiddler on the Roof,” Yonah in “Children of Eden,” and Philia in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”

She would like to thank Kira and Ali for the bottomless supply of hugs and kisses, and Brice for courage when courage was needed. “I wouldn’t be here without the love and support the three of you have given me ungrudgingly. I love you!”

What’s your favorite musical that isn’t named Enter Love?
I cannot narrow it down to less than two musicals because there are so many great works out there, but you can never beat “Chess” or “Sunset Boulevard.” Both consist of a dramatic tale filled with emotional highs and lows; the music in each seeps into the marrow of your soul. You are living vicariously through the characters before you realize what is happening.

How old were you when you first performed?
I was five when I danced to a piece from “Swan Lake” in my first ballet recital. According to my (very biased) parents, they said I was the only one not watching all the other dancers onstage. When I was six, I sang “Silent Night” in a trio at our school Christmas program. That was all it took. The bug bit me.

If your life was made into a movie, who would play you?
Hmmm….. well, I’ve had just so many producers calling me, wanting to make my life into a movie, and their suggestions ranged everywhere from Neve Campbell to Molly Ringwald to Idina Menzel. I’m hoping Idina takes the job, but we’ll see.

Who should host the Tony awards next year?
Eric K. Van Cleave

Who’s your favorite performer?
My kids. They make me laugh every single day.
