Carrie Francis

Meet Carrie Francis (Alex)

Back home again in Indiana, Carrie is thrilled to be doing her first show with the talented people at Civic Theatre, after acting, dancing and singing her way around San Francisco and the Bay area. Favorite roles include Morales in A Chorus Line, Rizzo in Grease and Edythe in My One and Only.

Carrie holds a lifetime of gratitude and reverence for Mr. Jaeger, Gary and Jean, for their extraordinary gifts and for setting the bar inexplicably high. Much love to Eric, Helen and V and to the cast and crew of Enter Love!

What’s your favorite musical that isn’t named Enter Love?
A Chorus Line – then The Wiz, Dreamgirls, and Sunday in the Park with George

How old were you when you first performed?
I was four when I danced in my first recital and 15 when I did my first musical, which was Mame, directed by Richard Jaeger, That show changed my life.

If your life was made into a movie, who would play you?
Mary Tyler Moore, how she looked in 1968

Who should host the Tony awards next year?
Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick

Who’s your favorite performer?
Meryl Streep is the best film actress, in my opinion. For stage, it is a woman named Michelle who played Effie in Dreamgirls in Palo Alto, CA, in 1988. She stopped the show.
